2Gth There will be a wolf hunt next Sat- urday covering parts of Mt. Ayr and i I All Stars Won From Harlan The Alton All Stars have one more victory to their credit now the last victim being Harlan, who played here last Friday night, after the high school game. Harlan came with a reputation of being a strong team and a battle royal was expected. To still further blast the All Stars hopes, Roy Brent reported unable for the game, owing to injury sustained at Athol. But at the last minute "Hi" Heme came to the rescue and took Roy's position.

It will be remembered that Heme has been out of basket ball this season owing to a broken $15.00 To Colorado and Return 3,200 acres of fine farming: land, most of it only four or five miles from town, now placed on the market for immediate sale. Alton took the lead and kept it. The score at the end of the first half was 38 to We attended the big automobile show in Kansas City last week. The crowd was small during the first few days of the show but it was a very large crowd during the last three days The "freaks" are fast getting to be thing of the past at the shows.

The whole trend of the show was toward a more economical maintenance. There were still some of the "improvements" for the FORI) on display, but they were mostly selling propositions and had very little real merit. 8 and in the seend half Alton scored 24 more while Harlan was getting 16; SAM'S Bargain List Injured In Runaway One of the saddest accidents to happen in this vicinity for some time occured here Sunday morning when Mrs. Lillie Boland and two children, Carl and Zula, were driving to Sunday School. In some manner the tongue of the buggy come down, frightening the team, which started to run.

Having no means of guidance, the buggy lurched from one side of the road to the other, and then the tongue struck smething, throwing the buggy in the air in such a way as to throw Mrs. Boland out. This happened just in front of the Frank Payntei home. The two children were also thrown out just a minute or so afterwards, and the team ran on, completely wrecking the buggy. Mrs.

Boland was immediately carried into the Frank Paynter home, and at first it was thought that her condition was beyond recovery, but since that time a more thoro examination has been made, and we understand the physicians entertain great hopes for her recovery, unless something new develops. She sustained a severe cut on the head, and for some time it was thot her skull was fractured. Also her collar bone was broken besides many other bruises and scratches. Up to the time of the present writing Tuesday she has not seemed to have many conscious moments, altho she appears to rest well, and at times is seemingly Mrs. Boland is one of the most admired and respected women in our community, and it was a great shock to her many friends to hear of the accident, but all are rejoicing that such hopes are entertained of her recovery.

Carl received a broken toe, and other minor scratches, while Zula escaped with only a few scratches. Altho the accident was very bad, all are thankful that the lives of these are spared. western tier of sections in Rooks on the line. A territory of six miles square will be covered, with the northeast corner at Wm. Bales'.

All lines will start at 12 o'clock. Positively no rifles allowed. Ten to fifteen men per mile should be plenty, and if more appear for that space, surplus men should be sent to a weak place in the line, if same exists. All lines are to halt within one mile of the Chas. Haines place, which is the center.

When the halt is made, an automobile will visit the lines, ascertaining the strength of each section, filling in or taking away where it is thot necessary, then an order will be given for the final round-up. This hunt will be just what the participants make it, so it is up to each one to follow instructions as much as possible. thus ending the game with a score of 02 to 24. Ray Brent was the big scoring machine for Alton in this game, altho each man registered a few points. Had an effort been made to do so, the All Stars could possibly have held the visitors to a smaller score, but when the victory was assured, our guards did not play back in the "safety and Harlan profited by this. The next game will be played tonightThursdaywith the Phillips-burg Legion Team. This team won a decided victory over the All Stars at Phillipsburg several weeks ago, but the All Stars think they are playing a much better game now than they were then, and have considerable hopes of nabbing a victory.

This is sure to be one of the best games played here this season, and there should be a good turn-out. Ever sinee the first of the season the All Stars have been trying to match a game with the Woodston Athletic Club team, and they now have promise of a game in the near future. It will possibly be remembered that the All Stars suffered defeat ut Hunter some time ago, under conditions which the team feels made a difference in the score. A short time previous to that, they defeated the Hunter team here, so a "rubber game" has been matched to decide the champion- KANSAS ALTON ship of the two teams.
