Almost instantly a pistol shot broke the stillness of the room, and a bullet from the burglar's pistol went crashing among the kittles on the shelves, barely missing Mr. Smith, The day, as usual, was appropriately observed at this place. Brown and acute legal minds can find no fault with tho title, but it seems that some Washington land attorney thinks otherwise, for he has instigated a local lawyer to jump forty acres of the Brown tract.
