On the contrary there does not seem to be anything special In the game except a "rough and tumble" display. The side having the most muscle is the side that alwaye wins.

If any of our readers are from Mis-squri we can show them instances, several of them, where parties have lost their lives playing this brutal game. Mr, Shirley, who now lives at Buffalo, this county, lost a son just in the prime of young manhood, in this so-called game. Those who have never met with or witnessed an accident will be hard to convince that the game ought not to be played Those who have had their sons killed are willing the game should be done away with. We think, and have thought for some time, that, between the two, prize righting is a much better sport and much more humane in its results than is footballir-The Mail and Breeze in an article on the game in its last week's issue has this to say: "We will frankly say that we went away with a feeling that if foot ball is a proper and manly 6port, all this talk about the necessity for legislation against piize fights may as well be stopped. There haven't been a third as many men injured in prize fights in a year as have been in foot ball games in the last three months.

We never have witnessed a prize fight, but we judge from accounts that the prize fight has more science about it and isn't half as rough as the average foot ball game. This thing of breaking the necks and legs and mashing the internal organs of a lot of stalwart young fellows may be in the interests of general progress and higher education, but we can't see it that way," An electric corset has been recently patented. It is constructed in such a manner that when a fellow slips his arm around his girl's waist he presses a button, this loosens a spring in the corset, throws sawdust in his hair and kicks himout of doors, where an India rubber dog stands ready to scare him into fits. Our neighboring town of Morehead has a co-operative eating housewhich furnishes its patrons food at actual cost. A share in it costs 5, and it is placed in a reserve fund for the purpose of building a co-operative hotel.

Each week the cost of food and expense is footed up, and divided by the number of meals taken, which gives the price per meal, which is at present 6 cents. Parsons Eclipse. Dr. B. E.
