The Beautiful Rain Wallace county was blessed with another fine rain Tuesday forenoon. It commenced early in the morning and rained almost continuously till noon. It was the finest rain we have had since early spring, having fallen so gently, not the least running away. The corn is now razzooping and the farmers are wearing smiling faces. After due in vestagation it has been discovered tJiat the plan of hringing water from Itone Creek conld not be worked successfully on account of th frietion in the pipe caused by the distance.

However the people of Wallace are not to be put down in their offort to get a good supply of excellent water. They have dug a well about a mile south of town and have secured excellent water, anil will put in an engine and have the works all the same. The entire length of pipe required for the whole system will he only a little over two miles; and will require less capital than the plan spoken of before. It will he an individual enterprise, and every citizen can afford to take some stock in it. It wilt greatly reduce the cost of water besides being a profitable investment.

There is still considerable government land remaining to taken in Wallace county and may be had at a distance from 6" to 7 miles from the railroad.

It seeks to convey the impression tihat oar town is to be moved from Its present site to the railroad sectin adjoining. The article of the News never intimated anything of that kind.
