Wardlow's peculiarities, to say something worth hearing when he talks. Through the kindness of Torpin an organ has been provided for the accommodation of the teachers during the Normal. Many of the students attending the Normal are persons who have never been engaged in teaching. This class is proportionately larger this year than any previous year.

The present session of the Normal Institute bids fair to excel all its predecessors in beneficial results. Heard, Orval Jeffries and several others whose names we have not learned, will start to-morrow for Denver, Colorado, to attend the soldiers reunion at that place, on July There are rumors of an extensive strike for higher wages amongst telegraphic operators. They have a powerful secret organization, composed of sixteen thousand out of twenty-six thousand operators in the country, and by making a general strike could cause serious results in business and social matters. A committee of the brotherhood have the subject in charge.

The organization is also contemplating a co-operative stock company, to be formed by operators themselves, with a view to building telegraph lines on a largo scale as a remedy for low wages.
