Mr. A. A. Bundy has been appointed Justice of the peace by Governor Martin, for Appleton, to fill a vacancy. He went to Ashland yesterday and filed his bond.

Mr, Bundy is one of the best residents in the county, and is well qualified to perform the duties attached to the office. Allen B. Sayles, of the Appleton, Eka, formerly of this office, arrived in town on Saturday, looking very well despite his recent illness. Curiosity is ou tiptoe as to the mysterious paragraph that recently appeared in the Ashland paper, respecting his taking back to Kansas one of Pennsylvania's fairxiaughters. Northern Tier Gazette, Tro-, Pa. Bucklin, alias Colcord, alias Newkirk, has been placed upon and moved seven miles, to a point two and one-half miles south of Corbitt, Ford county, on the-line of the Rock Island survey.

Au attempt is being made to move Corbitt to Bucklin for the sake of getting a post office, an article which they are sadly iu need of. The Rock Island railroad own fifty-five per cent of the town. Being iu the center of a fair agricultural neighborhood, Bucklin ought to make a good town in time. The board of directors of the South Side Investment Company met in Appleton on Monday evening and elected the following officers for the ensuing year; President, A. McCristal; Vice President, II.
