Mr. Jonah Holt was calling on some of our Mound City Democrats this week in reference to his effort to obtain an appointment as postmaster at Fleasanton to succeed J. Frank Smith. Z. Engle, superintendent of the county farm, are being generally mentioned as opposing candidates for nomination as sheriff on the Republican ticket at the coming primary.
