WEDNESDAY MARCH 25, 1890. The County Contest. The county contest will be held in Hudson's Opera Hall at Fredonia on Friday evening, April 3. The program will consist of three essays, three senior and three junior declamations, interspersed wltbrmuslo by Singleton's orchestra, quartettes and soloists. It is reported that she has the mumps. Essie Holland expects to go to Wichita Friday evening with her mother and aunt Frank Mc Bride leaves next Friday for his home at Winfield.

We are sorry to lose Frank. He was one of our brightest pupils. It is reported that Belle Vincent is one of the victims of the mumps. Quite a number of our pupils are absent on account of the scare, hence our low per cent of attendance. Charlie Martinson is absent this week.

He has been exposed to the measles, and his parents thought best to keep him at home, until after the time for the disease to appear, unless it prves to be a false afarm. A. FEW Mrs. Montgomery, of Marietta, Ohio, mother of Mrs. B.
