Jane C. Blakely's died at Beecher City, 111., on Easter Sunday, of cramp in the stomach. She was 75 years of age. This is the second time Mrs. Blakely's family has been visited by death in the last 30 days.

Of scarlet fever, on the night Of the 15th, Edward Koll, son of Lewis and Isabella Koll, aged 18 months. The little fellow had been sick but a few days and died very suddenly. It will be recollected that Mr. and Mrs. Koll lost their second son, a lad of 11 years about the first of last June by the bite of a rattle snake.

Smith Clapp had the misfortune to have his team ran away about two miles northwest of town near Isaac Peterson's place on Thursday of last week. The buggy was turned completely over with Mrs. Clapp and baby in it, who escaped with but slight injuries. Mr. Clapp had previously jumped from the buggy.

A man arrived in Atchison last night over the Missouri Pacific from Lenora, with four thousand chickens, enroute to Los Angeles.
