Charlie Golden came down from Kansas City, Friday night, td visit a few days with his parents. Miss Maggie Harris returned from Olathe, Saturday afternoon, where she has been visiting for the tpa st two weeks. A i Will Huggins, the jolly barber, from Butler, was in town Sunday and Mouday. Will is enjoying a nice trade in Butler. Prof.

Earnest Jackson, of the hub, was here Sunday, taking court news. He thinks there is more ways than one to go to court. Amos Hall, the genial merchant from Trading Post, was in town Saturday. WEDDING BELLS. Miss Ada Perrins and Mr. Arthur Ellis Were Married Sunday, at 1 Oclock P. M. It was a very quiet occasion only a few of the near relatives present.

Promptly at 1 oclock, Rev. Hunter, of the M. E. church, pronouuced the words that made Mr. Arthur Ellis and Miss Ada Perrine man and wife.

After many hearty congratulations from all present, the happy couple and the guests repaired to an elgant dinner and after spending an hour over this feast of good things, r. and Mrs. Ellis were driven- to the train where they took their departure for Kansas City, where they Will remain several days visiting their many friends. The gifts were uumerous and costly, and showed that the bride and groom held a high place of esteem and love in the hearts of all. The guests present were: Benj.

suffice to say that Miss Ada is the daughter of our honored and esteemed citizens, Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Perrine, having lived here many years, she has won the love and confidence of the whole community.

Arthur, the son of one our substantial citizens, familiarly known as Uncle Ben, Arthur is a good steady boy of clean habits and strong pursuasions, and will, we predict, make a noble husband for a splendid wife. The Item wishes them a happy and prosperous life. Read the Colorado letter. Grandpa Strain attended the circus; at Butler last Friday. He says, it was grand.

Fred Gentle, who has been visiting in Chicago, returned by the way of St. Louis, Wednesday. While in St. Louis he visited the scene of the tornado. G.

C. Tucker arrived here, Thursday noon, from Boulder, Colorado, where he lias been for the past year. Bullion, of Alabama, who has been visiting with her sister, Mrs. Walter White, for several day, took the 1:27 passenger for Kansas City, to visit Mrs. Gregg, another sister, of that city. Several parties, of Mound City, were in the city, this week, trading with our enterprising merchants. They said they can purchase goods much cheaper in our city than at the hub.

Frank Ralston left to-day for Minden, with two milch cows and a calf to be delivered to Jim Bagnel, of that place. The cattle have been on pasture at Frank Cop-pages farm, near Pleasanton. Mrs. Pearl Palmer, of Kansas City, arrived here, Wednesday afternoon, to visit a few weeks with her parents, T. B.

Barwick and wife, and a multitude of fritnds who are always glad to welcome her back to the city. John Collins, who is engaged in the livery business iu Moran, arrived here Saturday night, to visit relatives and his many friends, who were glad to see him. He returned, Tuesday for that place.
