Hubert, second son of John Brown, met with quite a painful accident at Fulton last Sunday, while trying to hold a team of horses by the bits and keep them from running away from an approacaing train. One of the horses reared, and it is supposed that the end of theueckyoke in coming down, cut a long gash in his left cheek near the eye. Dr. Hunter of Fulton, was summoned who took several stitches in the wound.

Star gravely' remarks that it is doubtful whether the rains on Monday were the result of the prayers; because it rained just as hard at Leavenworth, where they never pray at all.
