White, Ma went through here last Monday eve; everybody will remember Ma White who worked here when the Santa Fe wasi double tracked. Mrs. II. A. Rose went to Cotton wood Wednesday morning to visit and attend the class play Wednesday night Harry Rose has an Important part in the play.

Miss Hila Wood came in last Sat urday afternoon from Topeka for visit giving the homefolks a pleasant surprise, as they were not expect ing. She returned to her work at Washburn Sunday afternoon. Saturday, F. S. Sullivan received 31 cars of cattle, to pasture.

They were brought in by Mr. Washington of Manhattan, from Texas, was an unusually good looking bunch of cattle, Herefords and pretty well bred, too. John Sherffius is making some changes and improvements in his restaurant. He is putting in a partition to separate the pool room entirely from the restaurant and will put iu an ice cream parlor In one side of the front, and make a number of other improvements, but the ice cream parlor will make glad the hearts if it doesnt the purse masculin Mrs. Sherffius will have charge of the new department.

Wednesday afternoon was the afternoon for Ladies Aid Society but ou account of the wind there was no meeting. G. W. Barber of the Barber ranch near Saffordville a cousin of Mrs. P.

C. Jeffrey was shaking hands with friends here Saturday. Frank Stotts was appointed secretary at the Union Sunday school last Sunday, to take Anna Allens place while she is away. There will be a ball game Friday afternoon between the nine fromU-nion and the Elmdale High school nin the Eimdae High school nine. Miss Martha Thurston and Robert Myers spent Tuesday evening with Miss Anna Allen who leaves next Tuesday for a visit in Pennsylvania.

Mrs. M. A. Blackshere is expecting a visit soon from a couple of cousins who are aon their way home to Pennsylvania after a sojourn in New Mexico. Fred Smethers and family started at seven thirty Monday morning to South Dakota to Mr.

Smethers claim there.
