Doniphan County Democratic Convention Was Not Regular. The following dispatch was taken from Monday's St. Joseph News: Trot, Kan, 9. All of the Democratic candidates for Doniphan county officers appeared before the board of elections here last Saturday, in response to a notice to appear on that date and make answer to objections to their names goingon the official ballot, which had been filed-at the office of the county clerk. Alfred Perry, late chairman of the Democratic courty central committee, is the objector, and the grounds for his objections were that the mass county convention which nominated these candidates called for at the court house but held in the opera house.

The county clerk, county attorney and distinct clerk comprise a board for the hearing of such objections, and after listening to the evidence, Saturday decided in favor of Perry and against the Democratic candidates. This decision knocked out the newly elected central committee and leaves the Democrats with no county organization whatever. Much indignation is expressed because the ticket was ruled out on account of a technicality, and as the time for the nomination of candidates has passed the Democrats will have no ticket on the official ballot. DOES IT PAY TO ADVERTISE? Well. I should smile.
