They reported an extra large run of trade for last Saturday and report the business is keeping right up every day. The rain of Monday night and Tuesday did considerable damage to wheat, in some localities. The wheat was already going down and the rain made it considerable worse.

If the weather will only remain dry for about three weeks the great big wheat crop will be in tne stack and safe from ordinary casualties. Herb Aruett aod wife and little boy arrived in this city last Thursday night and remained for a day or two the guests of Jim Vaughn and wife. A number of years ago Herb was the Rock Island agent at this place and will be remembered by all -vho knew him. He is still in the railroad work and is located in a town of 5000 inhabitants in Idaho and is doing well. Since leaving this place he has taken on considerable flesh and is about two full sizes larger than when he was here.

Herb Hollis, formerly of this locality wis in town last Friday and purchased a driving horse of Joe Trembley and drove it home with him to his present location near Burrton. He moved back to Burrton this spring. He made the trip down here from Burrton on a motorcycle with his brother-in-law, the two on one wheel, in an hour, a distance of 38 miles, which is going a little even for a motorcycle with two aboard. Herb likes it around Hrlington and we can look for him here to locate most any time. Mrs.

Chenoweth for Sheriff In the column of announcements in annother part of this paper can be found the announcement of Chas. Chenoweth of Center township for the office of sheriff of Reno county subject to the will of the Republican voters at the August primary. Mr. Chenoweth has lived in Reno county nearly all of his life having moved here with his parents thirty-four years ago and has been a resident of Center township all of that time. He is well qualified to fill the office to which Le aspires and has a host of friends who will work for bis best interests and endeavor to land the election for him.

WOODS, Prop. Secretary State School Book Com Will Duncan of Oklahoma, arrived in the city Monday morning and remained for a few days visiting relatives and friends. Will was formerly 3d Aiiington boy and lived a few miles west of this city but moved to Oklahoma at the time of the opening several years ago. He has been spending the winter on the Pacific coast and likes the country ffrst clas3 and will dispose of bis Oklahoma property and move west. He purchased a 6mall tract of land while on his trip west.

The Kansas Hardware Company put on a public sale of farm implements, wagons, buggies and in fact most anything you wanted in their line of mercnandise last Saturday and they report a very successful sale. They sold nearly everything that was advertised and many things on the side. H. B. Ferguson came up from Langdon Thursday and remained for an hour or two.
