It has a very beautiful shell beach, and it is also surrounded by a very rich agriculture country.

The country, while not yet developed, Is developing very rapidly. We believe that Portsmouth Is going to be one of the good towns on the Gulf Coast. The most competent judges who have visited there think it will become a great pleasure and health resort, in addition to being a great commercial center. The company with which we are working expects to run a special train from Chicago, and expects to have several prominent men who will deliver addresses at Portsmouth. If the majority of the people wish to make a side trip to Galveston the chances are that the special train will go over to Galveston.
