Nicholson, the cement and smelter magnate who owns a big bunch of LeHunt cement stock, is building a new town called Kusa near Muskogee, Oklahoma. He has barred negroes from living there. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Blevins, of Buffville, have removed to The Tribune's auto, bicycle and football contest is warming up.

Twenty contestants at this writing and they are all working hard to win. A large number of Altoona people attended the Sells-Floto circus at Independence Tuesday. They all pronounce it the worst circus they ever saw. Arch Demmon made a business trip to Oswego Tuesday. Henry Carter served as city marshal during the absence of Mr.

Demmon. Mrs. M. Moritz, of 'Kansas Cityj arrived in Altoona last week to join her, husband, M. Moritz, a bookkeeper at the smelter office.

Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Hayward left Tuesday for a two weeks' visit with relatives in Western Kansas.

Mrs. Del Higgins, of Chanute, arrived in Altoona yesterday to visit her daughter, Mrs. Mort. Barnhill, and family. The diphtheria quarantine was raised last Saturday and school began Monday with a large attendance.

Many boys and girls have enrolled as contestants for the prises to be given away by the Tribune on December 1st. Al Kreutzer, formerly of Altoona, who has been spending the past year in Nevada and Arizona, was recently called to Ridgefield Park, New Jersey, by the serious illness of his mother. Raymond Laher, who has been spending the past two weeks with relatives in Independence, Kansas, and Pierce City, arrived at his home in Altoona the fore part of the week. Mrs. S.

C. Cunningham, who Buffville Items. Miss Sina Sellards is on the sick list. Milton Vance drove to More-head Sunday. Mrs.

Eunice Byram went to Kansas City Sunday night to visit indefinitely. S. T. Carrico, of Alva, Oklahoma, spent the first of the week with B. F.

Clayton and family. Born, September 8, 1915, to Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Wilson, a daughter. Earl Crowder went to Lawrence Saturday where he will attend Che University.

James McGrew was in Iola on business the fore part of the week. Mrs. M. J. Hendrix was called to Welling, Oklahoma, Sunday by the death of a grandchild.

Mr. and Mrs. Homer Stephens and son, Philip, visited relatives in Neodesha Monday. Mr. and Mrs.

J. V. McClintock and daughter, Helen, visited at Lafontaine Saturday and Sunday. W. H.

Byram was here on business Monday. He is now located at Shreveport, Louisiana. Rev. and Mrs. W.
