Mrs. Huldah Wittum, wife of Lu-man Wittum, died at her home in Wichita, Isansas, about three weeks ago. She will be remembered by many of the old settlers as one of the very first who located in Haven township, having come beresome time prior to the great grasshopper raid or '74.

A week or two ago, on the anniversary of the birth of Robert Burns, the "Scottish Bard," Rev. I'alconer gave a "Scotch at Hutchinson for the benefit of the Universalist church there, in which many of the best people of the city took pajt. It was a brilliant success, and was highly praised by all the town papers, and eminently satisfactory to the large audience who paid their money to hear it; Rev. Falconer is arranging to give one herej if local talent will assist, and there is no doubt that in case he give3 it, our people will enjoy a rare treat. The dramatic entertainment given by the Mystic Club last Friday evening was very well attended, and quite satisfactorily rendered.

The play is a good oiie, ranging from sublime sentiment to an Indian fight. Byron Erwin made a very fair Hoosier Farmer, ancf the other characters were equally as well cenceied. About $15 were realized; The mind-reading seance Tuesday night was very slimly attended, but it had all the crowd it was entitled to. That is to say, it was some weak.
