At our eastern homes the best land is always selected for these crops and if it is not the crop is always a failure. Here it seems as though it is all good and we have no trouble in selecting certain spots lor certain crops.

If the corn crop should be an entire failure we should not get discouraged, when such crops as millet, sorghum and melons are a success, for these crops cannot be produced on sorry land. While corn canuot be produced on any kind of land in large quantities only by close attention. Who could expect to raise from forty to sixty bushels of corn to the acre without any attention whatever. Such has been done in time but it is a rare occuiance in any country. Judge your laud by the sorghum.
