Died -On the morning of Thursday, January 4th, of croup at the home of parents, Charles Alfred, son of Mr and Mrs. Gtorge lloskinsou, aged two years and eight months.

The burial services took place at Old Neola, Rev S. W. Foulk preaching the funeral sermon in the presence of one of the largest congregations ever assembled there, and many a heart ached with sorrow for the mother whose heart is riven, and the father who is stricken as thtjy viewed: "Tho folded hands, the awful calm. The check so pale and chill: The lids that will not lift again, though We may call and call; The strange, white solitude of peace. That sett lea over all." Life and death are the twin mysteries it is not given the finite mind to solve Walt Whitman says of them: "Nothinfr Is known.

But I believe that God is overhead; And as life is to the living-, so death Is to the dead." And so let us not speculate as to why the gloom of death has darkened this household; nor why he has hushed the prattle of this white souled child, whilst he hath spared those of niatuier years whose lips but utter words of sin. He knows best, who knows all, and sooner or later in the dawning sun shine of God's eternal future, father and mother will know why this flower hath been transplanted. Gone to Turon.
