The transient public will find it to their advantage to stop at the Southern Kansas. We received a call from Mrs. Virgil Ilerard, who was on her way home from Manitou Springs, Col. She says Manitou is a very fashionable resort and is visited principally by eastern people, Texas, however, is well represented there. On July 28 it snowed over a foot on Tikes Peak.

Ladies visit the Peak every day and it is no uncommon thing for them to faint while looking down upon the clouds. The guests of the hotels spend the greater part of their time dancing the "York" and waltzing. Every hotel has an orchestra. Deputy marshall Taylor, stopped over Sunday night at the Lawson House. He was accompanied by Frank Laberdie, whom he was taking to Pawhuska on the old charge of cutting walnut timber contrary to law.

Laberdie was arrested last spring on this charge but neglected to fill out a bond.
