Wiens' place southwest of Inman, burning it to the ground. Lightning also struck two stacks of wheat the same day on the Aaron Thiesson farm west of Inman. This also was a total loss. Mesdames H.

Ratzlaff, C. P. Froese and J. J. Buhler formed a fishing party out on Little River Tuesday afternoon.

John Hildebrand, Miss Gertrude Balzer and Jake Balzer were callers at the Peter Balzer home last Sunday afternoon. Mrs. C. D. Wood of Elmdale came in Tuesday for a visit at the W.

The hail stones went through the roof of Peter Kaufman's large barn which was built last winter. They had considerable wheat to cut which was distroyed and will not be cut. Quite a number of trees were blown down here by the storm. Rev. Abraham Ratzlaff's visited Sunday at D.

B. W. Klassen and family of Hillsboro motored over Sunday to look after their farm. P. F.

Wall of Hillsboro came over to help during harvest. John Unruh and wife enjoyed a visit from the former's brother and sister last Sunday afternoon. F. F. Matthies was in Hutchinson last Friday attending a convention of the Southwestern Lumbermen's association.

Mrs. Peter Heidebrecht died at her home in Inman on last Monday evening, June 22 at the age of 74 years, 7 months and 25 days. The cause of her death was heart trouble and dropsy. She had been sick about a month and the last week she was very sick. She had a desire to see her children in Oklahoma so Mr.

and Mrs. Heidebrecht went there, returning about a month ago. She was taken sick in Oklahoma and was in a serious condition ever since. She had not been very hearty for a number of years. Elizabeth Nachtigal was born August 27, 1839 in Landeskron, South Russia.

She was baptized on Pentecost, 1857, by Elder Peter Wedel in Waldheim. On Oct. 28, 1859, nearly 55 years ago, she was united in marriage to Peter Heidebrecht. To this union 16 children were born, of whom 1 daughter and 3 sons preceded their mother to the great beyond. She had 55 grandchildren, 5 of wnom are dead.

There are 12 great-grand children. Rev. and Mrs. Heidebrecht came to America in 1874 and located on a farm southeast of Inman. She leaves a devoted husband, 12 children and a large circle of friends to mourn her death.

and G. W. Heidebrecht of Nowata, Okla. The funeral services were held in the Hoffnungsau church east of Buhler last Friday morning at 9:30 and she was laid to rest in the church cemetery. Mrs.

L. D. Ferguson of Hutchinson visited at the H. W. Woods home the first of the week.

Anna Bartel of Inman met friends from Wichita here last Thursday. H. Rogalsky and family motored from McPherson and spent Sunday at A. A. Janzen's.

Stewart Simmons of Hutchinson was trading in Buhler Monday. The rain this week started in about the time the second crop of alfalfa should be cut. Rev. J. F.

Balzer delivered two sermons in the Hoffnungsau church here last Sunday, one in the morning and one at night. They were well taken by those who were in attendance. When you are tired and hot stop at our Fountain and get cooled off. We serve anything in the soft drink line. You can imagine even the famous Mint Julep.
