Prof. Fitzgerald stated all the first of the week that he was not going to attend the picnic at Drury, and on Wednesday morning to be out of temptation, he scoured up his hos with a brick bat and sought the seclusion of his garden with mind intent upon the destruction of the noxious rag. weed, lie tackled the first row df potutoes with great vigor, he pulled through the cccond like a sore shouldered horse and made a dead balk on the third; and 10 a. ii.
