GOOD TIDINGS: of unknown teachers. If they are all right they can bring certificates of their standing. These are perilous times and we must be cautious Ex. The above, we take from the organ of a Holiness, Association. And whilst we most cheerfully subscribe to the first part of the writers remarks, the last part we most unqualifiedly condemn as unsoun d.

In regard to the former; we believe it to be the duty of every one of God's faithful children, to rebuke error, and hold up to the light of day, every one that is propoga and I will receive you," also "I am the door of the 6heep," and I am he openeth and no man shuttcth and. shutteth and no man openeth." also we read "Then they that feared the Lord spake often one to another, and the Lord harkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was wri ten before him for them that feared the Lord and thought upon his name" Now we submit is not this better than to be received into any sect body on earth; Furthermore Christ says of his church ''whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven." Now how can the church on earth be so denticle with that in heaven, unless the reception of members be decided by the same person. Now having shown that this theory that breaking the covenant thereby removes the yoke is a false notion we are ready to con cede that the breaking the covenant is a valid cause of action in removing the yoke; and that in the true church of Christ that action of removing the yoke does follow instantly as Christ says, I beheld satan at lightning fall from heaven." So that sees ting it We believe further, that God has called into being the Holiness Periodicals, of the day And place them upon the watch-to wors of moral safety, for that very purpose; and will in the judgment hold the different qualities or attributes of the Creator?" "God is eternal, omniscient and allpow-erful." "yes but there is still another you have forgotten: omni omni Come, then who knows it?" The whole school remained dumb. For no one knew it. "Now, boys, where -does the Heavenly Father live? Can no one tell me that?" From the last bench a small boy held up both his little hands: "I know "Well, Hans, that's a brave, good boy; come forward.

does the Heavenly Father lire?" "The Heavenly Father, the Heavenly Father, sir, lives after you pass the mill there's a bunch of filbert trees right back of the king's forest; there, in a little bit of a house, the Heavenly Father lives." The whole school broke out in a loud laugh; even around the school-master's mouth a smile lurked. "Be quiet, boys. Hans, my boy, why do you think God lives there? Little Hans was much abashed by his sehoolmates mirth; but the benevolent face of his teacher encouraged him to explain: 'Last week I went there with my father to buy some onions; a man lives in that house with his wife and two daughters and they are both married his daughters are, please, sir and they have some little each accountable for the faithful perform. ance of this work. Our buisness then, as faithful journalists, is to rebuke all the error we can, in our day and the age in which we live, and we believe further, that we are backed by the Word of God for so do body which claims to be the church Christ and fails to act with equal prompt ness and certainty for lack of capacity of discernment or power to perform proves itself a usurper; for God proposes to have his kingdom or church in earth as it is in heaven, all the time spotless; "For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named." And for this cause we dare not bow the knee atthe alter of any other sect to yoke with any other family wherein unbelievers are yoked by being retained as members for one moment ing.

But in regard to the latter, the writer sayes. "Do not receive any unknown teacher unless he bring a written standing from some holiness association "band or church." And "At the Western Holiness, Covention this plan was adopted." Now this latter, breathes forth nothing but the spirit of proscription. What Is proscription It is a compound of Envy, Jealousy, Pride, Unbelief, and Zeal (but not acording to knowledge) We have no doubt but the Formula, was gotten up somewhere in the lower regions. Now this spirit of proscription, has been cropping out from the beginning of time all along down the ages. It was the cause of the first murder: Cain killed Able, because of envy and jealousy.

AAron and Miriam's rebellion against Moses, sprang from the same source; Moses was the youngest and they proscribed him because God spoke through him and not through them. Agin Eldad, and Medad are con demned by the same spirit; what buisness. had they to preach, without geitting a "written standing" Sec. Again Joseph is 6old into Egypt, by this same wicked spirit. But that is not all for we learn from that proscription, murdered the son of God.

"For He knew that for envy thev had delivered Him." We see in this transaction notonly.Envy but ablind Zeal for they say "He decieveth the people." These blind guides could not endure the thought, that the people children; they all live together in three small rooms, and they are dreadful poor but they are always good and kind. They never say bad words, they never tell lies; so father said to me he saidf Hans, see, the Heavenly Father lives there The little fellows courage had been slowly ebbing away, and at the end of his very long speech he put both fists into his eyes and began to whimper. The master was greatly touched. "Do not cry, Hans; your father is right; the good God lives there. He lives where good men live as a loving God.

The Heavenly Father, then, is omni, omni "Omnipresent?" cried the" whole school in chorus. Selected. AGAIN. We insert the strictures of Pure Religion in this issue; if does us good to know that its religion does seek to be unspotted and when we remember three or Strictures. Beware! We learn that one Frank Blount, is going abroad among the holiness people of Missouri preaching "come-out-ism." And we heard it reported that then and there he has given out some other dan- four years of struggle in the transition period which we passed and it being only about a year 6ince we got out and hardly dare say so yet if the people say dont.

We know how to sympathize, we just say keep sanctified, and so keep Pure, and the Lord will lead you out, all right. Where the Heavenly Father Iiives. A school teacher was instructing his boys one day on Scripture subjects, and in the course of the lesson he said; "Now, boys, yesterday I explained to you some of the different qualities belonging to the Creator. William can you name them? William was at that moment deeply engaged in drawing the head of an ass on his desk at the teacher's question he looked foolish and stuck his finger in his mouth. "William, go foot! Henry, can you name might be deceived.

We see this spirit ot Proscription, breaking out amongst the disciples also: They find a man casting out devils, without any "written standing" and they forbade him, and it has ever been And without multiplying examples further; we hear assert that almost all the trouble that Evangelists have to contend with to-day is caused by the general church bringing this spirit of Proscription to bear upon them in their work. gerous doctrines. If rumors about these latter are true they are certainly doctrines of devils. Do not receive any unknown teacher unless he bring you a written standing from some holiness association, band or church. At the Western Union Holiness Convention, held last winter this plan was adopted and recommended to holiness people.

Adhear to it. Beware.
