He was born in Germany, November 15th. 1830. He came Es) America in 1856 and settled at Canton, Louis County, Missouri, he moved from there to Reno County, Kansas in 1885 and came to Oklahoma in 1890. where he made his home until last Christmas, when he went to reside with hi: son, B. F.

He was united i in marriage to Martha Elizabeth Lips at Canton, Missouri in 1861 to this union was born thirteen children, eight of whom survive him, five having proceeded him to the Great Beyond. He icined the M. E. chureli in Cloud County, Kansas in 1888 at the age of 14 years, and lived a good christain tife. He leaves a son 15 years old. two sisters and one brother to mourn his loss.

He was a loving father, companion and brother and was liked by all who knew him and his death was a shock to the community. Funeral services were conducted at the Bethel charch, Wednesday, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Bethel burrying ground. We have lost him, oh how sadly Bleeding hearts alone can tell We have lost him, Heaven has gained him fesus doeth all things well.
