1 Danville Items. School closed Friday, the Three persons, Lem Lairdf Clyde Field and Irl Laird, received certificates -for perfect attendance. After holding her record perfect till last week, Ethel Marvin was taken sick and was absent a most regrettable misfortune. Our school will furnish two applicants for teachers' certificates this summer, Lem and Minnie Ve look to see them successful at the examination, and, what is much more, successful in the school room. i The school term ends with the grades all well established and up with their work.

The Second Annual Field Meet came off as advertised. The day was somewhat disagreeable in the morning so the attendance was much less than it would have been, yet about 650 people were present. A number of excellent records were made, in fact all were good. The Anthony athletes won for the second time the Kille silver cup. The totals were as follows: Anthony, 77 1-2 Attica, 33 points; and Harper, 6 1-2 points.

Jas. Smith of proved himself the best contestant, winning three -gold medals, his total in points being 21. Chas. Randels of Anthony, was second with 14 1-2 points; Crowell of Attica took 11 and Johnson of Attice, 10 3-4 points. The winners, in the order of their rank, are given below: 100 yard dash.

The last two weeks were spent in examination, the 8th grade pupils taking the list of recent county teachers' examinations. All taking the examinations did well.
