J. Nelson of Mcl'herson and Joe Ely of Monitor were in the city Friday. John Weisthaner had his store painted inside and out this week. John Wall wielded the brush. Miss Sue Manda went to White-water last Friday to visit her sister, Mrs.

A car load of Harvester King combined machines was received Tuesday. A. L. Nash and Pete Pan-kratz are looking after the company's interest here. A feajful cyclone swept over New Richmond, Monday killing about 180 and crippling fully that many more.

Another one struck Iltrman, Neb Tuesday evening killing about 100. Mrs. C.A. Thornton of Bidder was in the city yesterday. Emma Tretbar is much better today ami she hopes to be up soon.

Mrs. Lintzs brother from McPherson is visiting her. Ex-sheriff Wal (ileason was in yesterdsy. Rev. W.

II. Walker will preach here two weeks from Sunday, July 2nd. Ira Laniz has a position as clerk in Weistlmner general merchandise store. Next Tuesday is the longest day of the year. After that the days will begin to grow shorter.

Jas. Hubbard, who has been clerking in the eity restaurant the past six month left Tuesday for Tescott, Kans. Dr. A L. Cludas has lately moved back to Tescott from Sulina.

The ground was too wet to cultivate corn, so the farmers took a day off to do their trading. District Court. District court has been in session since luesday. Carl Anderson, of Llndshorg, is being tried for selling intoxicating liquor, the jury acquitted Asher, assault case, and the Berggreu liquor case, the Sol Temple burelarv case, and the S3lumbaunh case have been carrleed over to the December term of court. The attorneys in the case airainst Nancy Doe, or Mrs. Miller, made their pleas this morning and the case was given to the jury. They found her guilty of pretty larceny and esti mated the property stolen worth S1C.50. The case of Lander and Nelson a- gainst, W. II.

Cbastaln occupied the at tention or the court this afternoon. This is a case in which Lander and Nelson are try inar to get payment for a binder and Chastain refuses to pay because he claims the maehinn was not as represented. McPherson Daily Re publican. The case of Henry Unruh a'eainst C. I).

II. Chastain was out until nearly four o'clock yesterday afternoon. A Verdict 111 favor of the defendant was civeu. Wednesday's Daily Republican. The case of McConnell vs the Santa Fe railroad occupied the time of the court yesterday.

This case grows out of damage to stock in transit to Texas. County Statistics. V. Halls Sunday. II. Stansel, wife and sons Frank and Willie spent Saturday and Sunday at W. Robertson of Little Valley.

Johnny Caudle and wife passed through this vicinity Saturday evening on there way home from Mcl'heison. Mr. Caudle has attended court there. Miss Ora Mitchell of Groveland is lis staying with her sister Mrs. Jesse Cade this week.

A pleasant party was given at Chas. Cades Monday evening and a delightfal time wks had by all. Various games were pl.iyed. Music and singing was the order of the evening.
