1 1 iii i i Four new street cars arrived here yesterday and will be put on the Glen-dale Park and Fair grounds line. It is expected that the traffic on that line will be immense this week and the street car company is preparing to accommodate the crowds that will desire to ride. The ten cent fare is not regarding with much favor and many are criticising the management for nosing the prices. However it is two or three miles out and the price can not be said to be ex-horbitant when the distance is taken into consideration. The easternmanuf acturers should go to spelling school awhile.

The first street cars received here bad the name of the city spelled Hutchison" which everybody knows is wrong. Those that came in yesterday have the legend, from the A. T. Santa Fe depot, to avenue rendered fciFrom the A. Santa Fee" which is also materially incorrect.

What is the matter with the cultured and effete east? Officer McFadden displayed a great deal of nerve this afternoon in dispersing a large crowd that had gathered on the side walk at the corner by the Hutchinson National bank, to listen to the music of an Italian band, by requesting them to move on, which they did. Had the attraction been a dog fight or a drunken row, he probably would have waited a while to "see how it turned out. John Vail, a merchant of West Virginia, is here visiting his friends Dr. Magnire and Harry Leonard. He has lately closed out his business and came west on a prospecting tour.

He is greately pleased with Hutchinson and will probably come here and enter into business. He is a gentleman of pleasing address and good repute and will be valuable addition to the population of the city. W. C. Dearicg, now of Hutchinson but formerly of this place, came in on No.

Mr. Hammond the former osvner of the steam laundry, and Henry Karstadt proprietor of the steam dye works have entered into partnership and leased the steam laundry. They take possession Monday and as they both are gentlemen of experience the establishment will undoubtedly be run to the entire satisfaction of its patrons. Give them a call. The race between J.

W. Crow's Probability and Herm Beers' Bally, did not tako place this afternoon. Both horses are entered for the county pace which takes place tomorrow af ternoon and the owners haye agreed to let the result of that race decide the wager they have made as to the rela-. tive speed or then horses. A five months7 foetus found in the vault of an outhouse in south part of town occasioned a good deal of excitement yesterday evening and this morning on account of the various rumors that arose concerning its age and its probable parent, No inquest was held but the police are quietly investigating the facts in the case.
