The A. S. A. Entertainment. The entertainment given by the ladies of the Equal Suffrage club, at the Opera House, Wednesday evening, was a very pleasant and instructive affair.

An interesting program had been prepared, which was creditably rendered, especially is this true of the song by Mrs. Kerr, the tableau representing the presentation of gifts to King Solomon and the song, Reuben and Rachel by RKssell Wiggins and Kate Dellzell. The exercises were interspersed with music by tbe orchastra. The most interesting feature of the occasion was the debate, the questing "Resolved that the Bible does not teach the subordination of woman" the ladies were well prepared for the battle and as long as no one appeared on the negative side had things all their own way. They produced some excellent argumnent for their side but when Mr.

Wiggins took the floor, their points melted away like snow before the burning sun. The ladies did nobly and suffered defeat gracefully as the audience dicided in the negative. The affair passed off so pleasantly that we trust the ladies will repeat it in the near future. Williams Bros, have traded the Eclipse stock of dry good to Denton Bros, of this city.
