The reason of this is that flowers in May are comparatively scarce and hence so expensive that but few of the Grand Army posts are rich enough to spend large sums for emblems that fade in a day. One post in Boston that decorates more than two hundred graves, has secured a silk flag, 12x18 inches, bordered with yellow silk fringe. and mounted on a varnished spear-head staff, three feet in length. On the 30th of May it is proposed to place one upon the grave of each soldier and sailor buried in Mt. Auburn cemetry.

Each flag will have printed on it the name of the post. THE best fire -Not be around when the fire occurs..
