Thursday morning between one and two o'clock, our city was visited by a terrible wind and rain storm, mixed with vivid lightning and deafening thunder. The heaviest part of the storm passed over the northeastern part of the city, coming from the northwest, ranging about one fourth of a mile in width.

It appears to have struck near the K. L. S. depot, demolishing he oil warehouse of the company. S.

A. Brown lumber yard was the next. Their lumber shed and sash house was torn to atoms, and the office carried off its foundation lumber, laths and shingles mashed up and scattered around promiscuously. The company estimate their damages at $250. L.

W. Spach's residence, a one story frame, was literally torn fca-pieces, and his houseshold goods all broken. Mrs. Spach was badly hurt on the head and hip. Their youngest child received a flight cut on the head.

Damage to house and furniture, 2o0, John Beer, story and a half frame building, is a total wreck also his household furniture. Three of his sustained slight injuries. Damage estimated at $400. John Campbell's story and a half rrame residence was lifted from the foundation and turned squarely upside down, smashing the house and contents into a thousand pieces. Mrs.

Campbell is seriously hurt on the head and side a twelve year old boy cut about the face and shoulders a six-ivta year old daughter bruised and 3 lined. Mr. Campbell has a bad cut ii the left side of the head. Not one of the family escaped unhurt. Damage to house and furniture, $300.

Itobt. Hudson's granary is also a total wreck. Loss, $150. A portion of Che Southwestern Stage and Omnibus stables was blown down. Damages, $200.
