aa aai a rences that has taken place in this community was the accidental shoot-; ingof Willie Avalton at Millers iall last Saturday evening at about ialf past seven o'clock. A Drama, by our local talent was to have been played that evening, and it seems that Willie Walton, aged 17 yars the 17th day of last January, had charge of the tickets at that time in the evening. Harry Av heeler went up and inquired for a ticket and was directed by Prof. Lo ranger to the other side room where Willie Walton had the tickets. There was no one in this room but vouug Wal ton when Harry Wheeler went in.

Harry, it seems, bis usual joking way, wanted a ticket, and young alton, jokingly told him he couldn't have it, and flourished his 44 calibre revolver: young neeier as quickly flourished his, the suppo-1 sition being that both pistols were not loaded. Both pistols were snap ped, it seems, young Wheeler's being discharged, the ball hitting Willie Walton just above the left eye and penetrating almost clear through the Bead. Death va instantaneous. Aa inqnest was immediately held by Coroner ilhamson, the result of which will be published later. The whole community was greatly shock ed.

1 he drama was not played.
