Click, Governor of Kansas Dear Sir In answer to your communication ot the 21st, requesting my official opinion on the cjuestion whether a sheriff cf this state is entitled to a reward offered for the arrest and conviction of a criminal, when having a warrant for such criminal in his hands, he executes the same and arrests the defendant within the limits of the state, and the party arrested is convicted, I will say: It is the duty of a sheriff to pursue, search for, and arrest offenders, against whom lie may hold process, if they are within his jurisdiction. will find in the city.
