Shortly after dawn breaks tomorrow morning over snow covered peaks of the Wasatch mountains, Joseph Hill-strom will be lead from his cell to the middle of a baseball diamond and shot for the murder of J. G. and Arling Morrison on the night of January 10, 1914. Hillstrom's last hope of another reprieve vanished tonight, when Governor Spry filed a message addressed to President Wilson, informing him that the board of pardons could not again interfere in the case. No new evidence had been presented and the governor said there was no reason for further' delay.

Hillstrom was told of the final decision of the board of pardons this afternoon. He said nothing, apparently expecting such a decision. He seemed fairly resigned to his doom. Just as word was given to Hillstrom that he must die tomorrow, a startling piece of condemning evidence, the existence of which had hitherto been unsuspected, was discovered. Hillstrom, when he heard his doom, asked for his black suit.

The warden found the suit in the prison storeroom, where it had been since he was first locked up in the prison. Inside the sleeve of the coat was found the name "Morrison" written with indelible ink. A hurried examination of the suit disclosed the name in two other places. Then it was discovered that the suit was much, too large for Hillstrom and it appeared to be about the right size for J. G.
