Mr. and Mrs. Peter Bally spent Sun day at August Broelmann's. Mr. and Mrs.

Clarence Criser entertained at Sunday dinner the following persons: Mr and Mrs. Earl Alliston and family, Mr." and Homer Ruckle and family. Oscar Ruckle and family spent Sunday at William Marshall's. A large crowd attended Sunday school and teachers training class at Payne Sunday. There will be preaching at Payne next Sunday.

Misses Fleshman and Mogan attended commencement at the Mulvane school Thursday and Friday after noon. Several of our young men have gone, namely Frank Jones, Erne Thiff, Glen Jones, Lester Exon started on a pleasure trip to Denver and other points last Monday. They will visit the Laurent family while in Denver. Alice Carter has been staying near Peck with friends. Another shower is brewing, we will tell you about it next Misses Effie and Marie Cooper are attending the school in Derby, since the Independence school closed April 1st.

Henry Stoller marketed corn at Wichita Friday. Miss Grace Tripp is a proud possessor of a new incubator and brooder. She will be the champion chicken raiser soon. Mr. and Mrs.

Nearly every farmers wife is running an incubator these days, it is surprising how many there are in the country. Winne Booth lost a good mare Sunday. This is the third one. The friends of Mr. and Mrs.

Huff gave them a postal shower Wednesday, April 28th in honor of their 35th wedding day. May they have many more such. Last week was rainy throughout and very cold much of the time, excepting Friday. (One week later.) Monday and Wednesday and Friday J. Wagnor and daughter, Sadie, of Wichita.

Jansen and Miss Florence Harpstrite spent Sunday afternoon and evening at the W. F. Luening home. Mr. Buscher marketed hogs at Wichita Friday.

Mrs. Sam Tripp is visiting at the Wichita, were guests at Mr. Bennett's Sunday. Miss Mary Sloan has again taken up her music class in this neighborhood. Miss Katie Pease spent Friday afternoon at Kennedy's.

Eifert visited Aaron Wineteer's Sunday. Mr. Knight closed a very successful eight months term of school at Vernon last Thursday. The occasion was celebrated Saturday by a picnic at Lin-wood park. Although the day was cool all report a fine time.

The many friends of Miss Emma Mogan gave her a postal shower Saturday, May 1st. Rev. Burrill preached a very interesting sermon Sabbath morning, tak ing for his text, Rev. 15-2. "And Isaw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire, etc." A large crowd was in attendance.

Miss Mattie Carter entertained a friend from Wichita, from Friday evening till Monday morning. A good sized crowd was in attendance at the church Sabbath evening to hear the Y. P. C. E.

"Miss Carrie may spent Tuesday forenoon with her uncle, John Stockdall who is still quite poorly. Mr. and Mrs. Rolla Stockdall came from Missouri Tuesday night to see his father. The Payne Ladle's Aid met at Mrs.

White's Wednesday afternoon and quilted. When it comes to fine quilt Ing the ladies are hard to beat. They already have enough quilts promised to work on all summer. Mrs. Eli Long visited at Mr.

White's and Stockdall's Wednesday. Mrs. Daniel Ruckle and Miss Orpha Thompson went to Wichita Wednesday. Mrs. August Broelmann and Rolla Stockdall visited at Teter Daily's Thursday.

Mrs. James Waggoner and Miss Carrie Bally were shopping in Wichita Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. George Ruckle gave a delightful party to their many friends Thursday evening in their cosy new home on 21st street.

Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Homer Ruckle, Mr and Mrs. Lester Criser, Mr. and Hazel and Hattie Newman and Hazel Devore visited with Nettle Feldner Sunday.

Mrs. Tripp is visiting with her daughter, Mrs. Adah Stollel. Mr. and Mrs.

George Thomas and family, Mr. Herman Young visited at Mr. Thomas Erdkiens. Sunday were: Mr. and Mrs.

Jj. Braddy and baby, Miss Claudia Bennett and Messrs. Harry and Willie Crawford and Will Calloway. Several from here took their cattle to pasture for the coming season, last week. Mrs.

Bennett and daughter, Claudia, spent Monday afternoon at Wm. Trickey's Albert Joerger and Mrs, Braddy returned home Thursday from a seven week's stay at different points in Illinois. Mrs. Pease and daughter, Katie, and' Tom Pease visited at Baryl Sloan's Sunday. George Pearson has purchased a fine new buggy.

Now, girls, don't be so slow or that fair Wichita maiden will get the first ride. Mr. and Mrs. John Rick entertained the former's brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs.

Ezra Rick of Wichita, Sunday. Mrs. Lucy Trickcy and daughter, Hazel, spent Friday afternoon at Braddy's. Several from here attended the 101 Ranch show in Wichita Friday. Mrs.

Ina Utt visited with homo folk Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bennett of Wichita were visiting with relatives here Sunday. SUNNYDALE.

N. Weews. George Devore and Goldie Shaul spent Sunday evening at Walter Strongs: Mrs. Mary Devore's daughters, Elsie and Irene visited at Grandma Thomas' Sunday. Clive Rittcr visited friends in this vicinity Saturday night and Sunday.

Mrs. Barrett is improving at this writing. Tho children will practice Thursday for the Children's Day exercises. Hazel Newman spent Monday afternoon with Leona and Lucetta Devore Mr. and Mrs.
