A. 0. Ebright, who introduced the speaker of the evening. Governor Hoch's topic was "Education, Its Meaning and Purpose." He emphasized the necessity of the uniform education of the whole man, physical, mental and spiritual. -The purpose of education was the making of men and women.

Governor Hoch concluded with brief remarks concerning the value of good reading his hobby. He warned us against the "newspaper habit" and exhorted us to have faith in the best of all books the Bible. As students we must remember that it is our duty to encourage our foot ball and basket ball teams. We can do this by letting our smiling faces and blood curdling yells be present at every game played on our grounds. Foot ball practice has begun.
