Dr. A. W. Vaniman was awarded the prize for the best essay for the Alumni Asscciat on of the Kansas Medical college, Pending the decision of the money question, McPherson College will receive either silver or gold in payment of tuition, etc. Prof.

Frantz, Editor of the Bible Department of the TEACHER AND STUEDNT, has been quite sick of typhoidmalaria fever. Indications are favorab'e for his recovery. In the recent Teacher's Examination, in McPherson connty, of the fo: rteen first grade certificates i sued. eleven were issued to former s'udents of McPherson College. Eight of the eleven were enrolled within the last session.

We note the death of Peter Reish, of Quinter, Kansas, July 22. He leaves an aged widow and seven children, one of whom, J. K. Reisb, has been a faithfal student in our College. Our sympathiee are with the bereaved family.

OUR CLUB-OF-FOUR PLAN. DENT. We believe every former student of McPherson College will feel like extending the circulation of the TEACHER AND STUDENT. Here is our plan: Get up a club of four subscribers and we will send you the paper free. Don't wait until you get the full club.
