G. W. Williams, Hartland's most popular druggist, left for Kansas City last night, on a business and pleasure trip combined. Eight of the largest and best buildings in Eli are being moved to Surprise this week. Eli is bound to get there, -to Surprise, we mean.

J. I. Bates, of La Grange, has recently accepted a position in the mammoth drug house of G. W. Williams, in this city.

Mr. Bates is an experienced druggist, an excellent business man, and a perfect gentleman. Mr, O. Gossard, who has been rusticating among friends in the eastern portion of this state, St Louis and other eastern cities, returned Tuesday evening after an absence of about four weeks. Why Mrs.

G. did not accompany him, we are unable to tell. An excursion train passed through this morning enroute for California. Another will arrive this 5 p.m., when a hudred or more easterners are expecied to stop off an look over this city and surrounding country with a view of investing in Southwestern Kousas dirt, DIED- On Saturday evening, Oct. 8, at Princeton, Ontario, Dominion of Canada, Mrs.

It has been two years since Mr. Cross left here, and apon his return now seeus well pleased at the repid development of this Garden of Eden. We understand that Mr. C. will, next spring, locate four families from Illinois upon his land and hare it improved.

Charley Lauck entertained in royal style a number of his gentlemen friends in his private spartments, over his lumber office, last Saturday evening. Fresh oys ens were served in every style, and the culinary qualifications of Mr. Breed, the book keeper, are certainly of a superint quality. As host and hostess Charley Lanck and Charlie Breed are a fell team. MARRIED.

The bridal yesterdey ather taking sea at the Buffalo, 80 p.m. for the east. WEDDING BELLS. A qu'et wedding took place yesterday at 3 o'clock p.m. in this city, the tracting parties being Mr.

W. F. Flash, cashier of the Bank of Harland, and Miss Allie T. Hill, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.

E. M. Hill. The ceremony was performed by Rev, Gee, E. Bicknell, pastor of the Presbyterlan church, at the residence of the brides' parents, in the presence of the family, relatives from Hutchinson and Great Bead, and a few intimate friends of the bride and groom in this city.

The presents were numerous and very valuable. After partaking of a bountiful repast, a short time was employed in pleasant conversation, and the fair couple 5 were accompanied took to the the depot, bound where, at o'clock, they west train for Denver and other western cities. They will return in about a week and make this city their future residence, when they will be Home" to their many friends, The TIMES wishes them peace, happiness and prosperity. DIED On Friday last, at one o'clock p.m. of diptheria, Allie A.

Epperson, aged 6 years, 1 month and 5 days, daughier of Mr. ond Mrs. W. N. Epperson, of this city.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. B. Marsh, pastor of the M. E. Church, at 5 o'clock Sunday eyening, after which the remains were deposited in the city cemetery.

Mr. Epperson was absent in the Neu. tral Strip, and did not arrive home until after the burial, although every effort was made to have him present. Little Allie was unusually bright and aflectionate for one of her age, dearly loved by parents, brothers, sisters playmates and all whose pleasure it was to know her. The bereaved parents have the heartfelt sympathy of everyone, in this sad hour of sudden affliction.

It is reported here by good authority that contracts have recently been made with parties in Garden City and Lakin for the removal of several empty store buildings from the above named place to Surprise, in Grant county, A large ber of the best bundings in Oincinnati have already been moved end the remainder is soon to follow, and as Ulysses is entirely out of trumps, she will be compelled to follow suit. This is as it should be, and the people of Grant county are to be congratulated upon the adoption of such wise conclosions, to make one good town in Grant county. About 5 o'clock in the morning of the first day of this week a hunting party consisting of Mayor Gabard, C. E.

Lauck, Dr. Gibson, Tom Huggins, J. I. Bates and Ed Neff, (owing to the earliness of the hour we didn't go,) armed with shot guns and winchesters, hied themselves to the Lukes, about two miles east of town, in search of game. The party returned about 9 o'clock, in time for breakfast, somewhat tired and hungry, but amply rewarded with gume, which was brought in in a two horse wagon.
