Wai.nit City, Sept. 10. Dear Blade: Since my last I liavo been among our people very much, (not however,) and find that advancement and improvement is the order of the day. I have taken on to myself the task of visiting the Sabbath schools of our county. I have already visited about ten schools and have been cordially received, and hospitality entertained in every east To say that I am pleased with the maui.genient and progicss of tho schools would be putt.ng it altogether to light'-.

I am really delighted, and feel that as a people we have icasontobe righteously proud of the interest, intelligence, and genuine management mautfess in all of our Sunday schools. When we get around to all of the schools we will then report the number in the county, but we can now say that we think there are more Sunday Schools in Rush county than in any other county iu the west of the same age and population. This speaks well for the intelligence, culture, and high moral standing of our people, for which we feel siucerely thankful. Young gentlemen and ladies cannot raise themselves in the estimation of tho people so rapidly in any other way than to be a reg XX XX XX XX TO THE PEOPLE OF RUSH COUNTY: If you want anything iu the way of PRACTICAL WATCH MAKE It XX XX XX XX XX XX XX XX AND JEWELER, Lumlxu', It i ii 1 Doovn, Cement, XX ARNED, KANSAS. Lincoln (III.) EoyI'tiax Corn. -This is the corn spoken of in the Bible in that beautiful story of Joseph and bis Rrethren. It is a very old plant, history does not date back to its origin, and it has been handed down from generation to generation to the present day. A few years ago some shrewd Mich iander got hold of a supply of the seed and adviitised it through the agricultural papers as Pampas or upland Rice. No doubt his intentions wne to deceive the honest giangeis, but he did an everlasting benefit for Western Kansas.

Raker the African traveller, speaks of this corn as yielding live hundred bushels to the acre in Northern Africa, but there it yields one eiop alter another without being cut down by the frost. It has yielded half that amount, in California, and with proper eu'tuie there is no reason why we should not expect from one hundred to one jkikvi b1 jt i 'i ri ri ri ri rrryrrrr WATCHES JEWELRY AND CLOCKS. 4 jr-Ulve a ortl-tf REAL ESTATE A LOAN AGENCY.
