Mr. Dennis Wilks, ine of oni old time settlers in Trenton township, came homo from Colorado recently, where he had been at work, and found his that wifo and children had all gone back to Illinois. Ho was not discouragcdjhowcvcr, but set about plowing lite ground for wheat which ho subsequently sowed. He now has fort3' acres up and growing nicely. IIo will return to Colorado soon and hunt bear and other game till spring.

We wish him tho success his industry merits. Capt, liirkpatrick, of Nettleton, shipped a car of horses and mules to New Mexico, Wensday, to work on the railroad, lie will ship more in a short time. This is a fine opportunity for any one who needs employment, to get it at paying wages, in a waam climate where they can work all winter with comfort, We are informed that the transportation is very low, and that those having teams do not need any money to start with. For futher particulars, apply to Mr. Kirkpatrick.
