Fleharty, the silver tongued orator of Kansas, pleased everybody in a free and easy thirty minutes talk.

Harry ean please, and can always have a Doniphan county audience to please, when he chooses. James N. Kirwm, who recently returned from a course at the law department of a Washington, D. C. University, pleased everybody in a half hour's effort replete with splendid thought.

Jimmy Kirwia will make his mark in this world if health and fortune favors hira, and Doniphan county will ever and always remember him kindly. Everybody saw everybody elses neighbor and the crowd was the most sociable oue ever met together in Doniphan county. Flynn went to St St. Jos-eph Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Teeter to have an operation performed on their baWy. Miss Ida Jaiucke went to Hanover Saturday to spend a few days.

John Overlander was iu Severance Sunday. Dr. Hoover of Hamburg, Iowa, visited friends here the first of the week. Frank Elfred and wife of St. Joseph spent the Fourth here.

Quite a number from Severance and Robinson attended the celebraliou here Tuesday. The Fourth of July celebration here was very good considering the weather. Music was furnished by the Robinson bacfd, and speaking by Mr. Means of Hiawatha and a few others. The lire- Harry Culp, earned his half dollar.

Misses Rosa and Janie Heeney returned Monday from an extended trip to Colorado and the mountains. Geo. Fisher has received a letter from Herman Schraeder, formerly of this vicinity, who is now a member of the 20ih Regiment of U.

S. Regulars in the Philippines. The letter was written uuder date of May 16, and was over a mouth on the road from Manila to Kansas. He reports his own health as excellent but anxious for a chance to return to Doniphan couuty. He is now a member of the Regimeutal band and does not encounter all of the hardships whicn the ordiuary soldier is subject to.

He enclosed in the letter a postoSice money order, payable at Denton, which is the first one ever sent from the Philippines to Doniphan couuty, perhaps the first one in Kansas. Chas. Friend and family visited with relatives near Highland Station last Sunday. Allen Stewart spent the Fourth in Troy, celebrating." Most everyone in this vicinity, including the Denton band, celcbtated the Fourth at Bendena, Len Roberts aud wife are the proud parents of a baby boy born one day last week. Mr.

Sams has leased the Denton hotel which has recently been repainted, and papered and renovated throughout, and is going to conduct a tirst-class house. Mr. Sams Is an old baud at the hotel business aud will run the hou's'e in a manner which will deserve all patronage. Mrs. C.

A few hours later the immense show was landed inside the exposition park, and long before nightfall the many acres of canvas was stretched and the apparatus placed for the performance. "Wallace's Show has many strong attractions this year which are not introduced in the other circuses.

The performance in the big tent brings before the public the Nelson family, acrobats of international fame. The nine members of the family are known to the Pittsburg public, their clever work having been appreciated here many times. The Angelo family do the flying trapeze act, aud the Stirks, French trick cyclists, perform.
