1895. Dr. Myers has been giving his house Several little typographical errors were overlooked in publishing Miss Eva Castle's oration last week. One at least needs correction. In this sentence, "Dare we drag this banner, so consecrated, in the dust of selfish aims and ambitions?" the word "consecrated" was misspelled.

Dental Notice. Dr. J. C. Myers will be at the City Hotel, White Cloud, Monday and Tuesday, May 20 and 21.

Forest Camp of the Modern Woodmen initiated seven new members last Monday night. Under Deputy Wyckoff had been here part of last week and returned Monday. It was chiefly due to his efforts that the number was so large. Deputy P.

J. Strack, who was here last fall and organized the camp, came down from Pawhattan Sunday evening and went back Tuesday morning. The Woodmen promises to become one of the best working lodges in town and to say that there is "a bushel of fan" in initiations is putting it too mildly. The new members are Bert Byers, Fred Hel-vey, E. J.

Base Ball. The Troy league team went to Leayenworth last Sunday and defeated the team of giants in that city by a score of 8 to 6. To be sure the boys are proud of the victory, but only one or two of them show any signs of being puffed up inordinately on account of the prowess of the team. The game is reported to have been a very interesting one. Both sides played well.

Wilson and Fanl-coner were Troys battery throughout the game and did good work, although during the latter part of it the giants found the baU pretty often and sent out to the field where it was properly and L.
