Oit, who formerly resided in this vicinity, has sold out his interests in Kansas City, is moving his family to this city and will occupy for the present Spartans Rea's house on Walnut street -ip3 John Beland has just received a hue lot of Silver and Platedware direct from the factory. The case of Barnes vs. Gorhara ct brought from Winchester on a change of venue, came up before Judge Clark Tuesday morning and on motion of defendent was dismissed without prejudice on account of defect of papers, the bill of particulars not being sufficient.

An immense throntr of friends witnessed the services. The remains were taken in charge bv the Knights of Pythias of which order he was a member, and buried ac cording to the ceremonies of that society. Obituary. Samuel Leglep. was born in New Glarus, Green Wisconsin.

Feb. 7th, 1858; died in Valley Falls, Kansas, Nov. 14th, 1885, aged 27 years, nine month and seven davs. Sam as he was generally called, came to Kansas about eight years ago. The first two years he spent on a farm, he then came to town and en- jracred the hverv business.

Janu ary 22nd. 1878, he was married to Carrie L. Oliver. In about two years after this, a littlo babv bov came to gladden their home. But bady's stay was short for in two years and a half, he was taken to the borne of Him who said, "Suffer little children to come unto Me, for of such is the Kingdom of God." In about five months more the mother went to join the angel spirit of her dear babe in the "land where the saved never die." And now last of all the husband and father has left the weary road of life and quietly sleeps beside the wife of his youth, "united in life they are not divided in Such is the history in brief of one little family, but around them clustered a large circle of relatives and friends who loved and cared for them, and who hope to come into that country by and by, "where all tears shall be wiped from their eyes." The Scotch Highlanders have a song that they sing as they follow a loved one to the grave4 and we will give it here: Neighbor accept our parting song, The road is short, the ret is long-, The Lord broag-ht here, the Lord takes hence.

That in the de ath of Samuel Legler, this Lodge laments the loss of a brother v.ho vr: ever ready to proffer the hund of aid and voice of sympathy to the needy and distressed of tho fraternity, while his friendship, charity and benevolence was known to those outside as well as to those inside the Lodge; a friend and companion who was dear to us all a citizen honored and respected by his fellows. Resolved, That the heartfelt sympathy of tins Lodge bo extended to his relatives in their affliction. Resolved, That these resolutions bo spread upon the records of the Lodge-and a copy thereof be furnished to the family friends of our deceased brother, and to each of the city newspapers.

The table fairly groaned with the burden of the menu, so varied and complete. The high contracting parties whom every one knows to love and admire, were the proud recipients of numerous useful and costly presents, con sisting partly of china sets, silver ta ble ware, fine jewelry, chamber and kitchen furniture, linen, dishes, a list of which we have not sjace for this week.
