But listen to the following. you old soldiers PENSION RESOLUTIONS At the regular meeting of Sherman Post No. 30, Grand Army of the Rep ublic of this yity, held Wednesday ccuing April 16,1894, the following resolutions were unanimously adopted: "Whereas: The old soldiers of the county, and especially of the state of Kansas, have lmost unanimously de clared in favor of the Iiigalls-Cheadle service pension bill. And Whereby: Hon.

N. Morrill, raoniber of congress from the First district of Kansas, and chairman of the house committee on pensions, has smoothed that bill in his committee and reported in its stead the Morrill bill a bill which no soldier has asked for, and no soldier wants. Therefore be it. Resolved: That this Post vote Congressman Morrill a tin medal attached to a brass collar, and bearing the inscription "The Morrill Pension Bill," so that the old soldiers of his district maj look upon it and be reminded that Morrill is a friend of the soldier. In the same paper of May 10th.

1894, is a set of resolutions that vas adopted by the old soldiers. Among other things they resolved "That we denounce all such subterfuges as the dependent pension bill and the Morrill substitute, and demand of our lawmakers that tliey pass a straight service pension bill. ANNOUNCEMENT of SOULE COLLEGE. Soule College is located at Dodge City, Kansas, and belongs to the Methodist Episcopal Churchy The buildings are large, beautiful, well arranged, convenient and free from debt. The campus contains 40 acres, 12 acies of which is laid out in walks and drives, and adorned with trees and The College already has a valuable reference library, which is constantly in creasing. The first term of school will open September 4i 1894, at 2 P. M.

Courses of study aru being arranged to suit the needs of all studnets. The school year will be divided into three terms' The average tuition per term will be about $3.00. All students and professors, who desire it, can board at the dormitory for $2. per week. Rooms will be provided, either furnished or unfurnished, at a small cost.

There will be special course, in Buis-ness, in Stenography and Typewriting, in Drawing and Painting, and also In Music, both Vocal and Instrumental. For these studies a small extra tuition fee will be charged. The Professors will be specialists, and the work done will be first-class, Mrs. W. II.

Rose, wife of the Presiding Elder, has been engaged as Preceptress, CONSTITUTION. Substitute for Senate Joint Resolutions, Nos. 1 and 2. Be it resolved bij the leg islature of' the state of Kansas: two-thirds of the meinbers elected to each house? thereof concurring therein. Soction 1.

The following propo sition to amend the constitution of the state of Kansas is hereby submitted to the qualified electors of the state for their approval, or rejection, The section one, article five of the constitution of the state of Kansas be amended so that the same shall read as follows: Section 1. Every person of the age of 21 years and upwards belonging to the following classes, who shall have resided in Kansas six mouths next preceding any election, and in the township or ward in which she or he offers to vote, at least 30 days next preceding such election shall be deemed a qualified elector. 1st: citizens of the United States. 2d: pei sons of foreign birth who have declared their intentions to become citizens of the United States conformable to the laws of the United States ou the subject of naturalization." Sec. 2.

This proposition shall be submitted to the electors of this state at the general election of the repres entatives to the legislature in the year eighteen hundred and ninety-four, for their approval, or rejection; those voting in favor of this proposition shall have written or printed on their ballots "For the suffrage amendment to the those voting against the said proposition shall have Written or printed on their ballots "Against the suffrage amendment to the constitution;" said ballot shall be received aud such vote taken, counted, cauvessed and returns made thereof in the same manner and in all lespects as provided lor by law; ae in the case of the election of representatives to the legislature. Sec.3. This resolution shall take affect and be in force from and after its publication in the statute book.
