S. OHAETSE SON, Mansfield Centre Ccnn. hy permission, to Firrt Nationcl Ba.uV, Windham Nationa Donald Hume, the new commissioner from Hallet, took his placa as a member of the board Monday. Mr. Hume is one of the loading farmers of the west end, and the people can well trust him to look after their interest on the board.

E. E. Lawrence, the retiring county Clrk, will, in a short time, remove to his ranch. Mr. Lawrence during the four years in which he has held the office, has proven him self a good and efficient officer, whose efforts and close attention to business has been duly appreciated by the people of Hodgeman county, whom he has so well served.

A. E. Sweet, the new democratic sheriff, was duly installed into the duties of his office on Monday. Mr. Sweet is a man who is well identified with the best interests of the county, and whose popularity with the people is shown by the large majority he received on the day of election.

That he is well qualified and will faithfully perform the duties of his office, there is no doubt in the minds of the people of the county. James Gillaud, who has for the past four years, faithfully performed the duties of Sheriff of Hodgeman county, on Monday turned over the effects of his office to Sheriff Sweet, and has again taken his plaee as a private citizen of Hodgeman county. Mr. Gilland has made a good and efficient officer of the caunty, and whether a public officer or a private citizen, he will continue to hold a high position in the estimation of the people of our county. H.

B. Helm, the new county Clerk elected at the last election, took po-session of his office on Monday. Mr. Helm is one of the leading young business men of our city, and is highly qualified for the office to which he has been elected by the people of Hodgeman county. The fact of his having been elected on the democratic ticket in a county which is overwhelmingly republican, shows clearly his standing in the estimation of th? people, and we have no doubt but that the affairs of the office will, under his administration, be conducted to the satisfaction of the people and to his honor.
