ZACHARIAS, President MARCEL DUPHORNE, CASHIER OUR PLATFORM The National Bank of Harper HARPER, KANSAS Frank Coulson Laid to Rest. The funeral of Frank Coulson, on son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Coulson occured Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the PresbyterianNchurch. Rev.

A. G. Alexander officiated and delivered a message of comfort to the grief stricken parents. The church was crowded to its capacity with friends of the afflicted relatives. The little casket was covered with flowers, mute tributes to the little life which had departed.

The remains were laid to rest in the Coulson family lot in the O. 0. F. cemetery. Sne3K Thieves At Work.

For the past week or ten days Mrs-Mary Persons, proprietor of the Eagle Hotel, has suffered several 'osses from sneak thieves. Mrs. Persons owns a residence near the hotel. It is furnished and she keeps her chickens on the premises. During the past ten days the house has been entered twice and four pillows, a pair of heavy blankets, a forty pound feather bed and other things have been taken, besides ten or a dozen of her chickecs.

Mrs. Persons says that she does not like to see any one puffer from hunger or cold and that if they will come to her Safety first, liberality next. Both arc essential to successful banking. Hunter. Arthur Miller. Harrv Leonard and Misses Map-pie Neff and Chattie Fulton. Wellington Murder Mystery Cleared. By the confession of John KidwelL who was apprehended at Hannibal, last week, a Wellington murder mystery has been cleared up.

On September 24th, 1912 a man by the name of McKenelly, his wife and a daughter were found murdered in their tent near the Santa Fe yards in Wellington. They had been knocked in the head with a ball bat and then shot. Otto McKenelly, a son was suspected and held for several months and then released. Kidwell alleges that the son hired him to kill the father and in the attempt the mother and daughter awoke and were also killed. Young McKenelly assisted ia the killing.

Methodist Revival A Success. The series of revival meetings now being held at the Methodist church by Evangelist Maitland are a success as shown by the many who are making a start toward a new life. The church is crowded to its capacity at every meeting and many are being converted. Tie meetings will probably continue for two weeks. Rev.

Maitland is a forceful speaker and a power in his profession and the gocd he is now doing in Harper will be felt for years to come. Mr. and Mrs. S. Reynolds of Wichita spent Sunday with Harper friends.

A band concert will be given at the Opera House, Friday night March 6th. The press dispatches the first of the week told of the appointment of Claude R. Porter as United States attorney for Southern Iowa. vr. Porter is a brother- on the 27th of February.
