We regret to be obliged to record the fact that we are to lose Mr. Dickson as a citizen; for they (and when we say they we mean his family as well) are very desirable citizens, and any community in which they may settle will receive into its midst a family of five persons, all of whom they may feel proud We heartily congratulate our Capital City that it is the fortunate one, for if we are to lose them we are glad it is to get them. This apparent decrease, in Neosho Falls especially, is undoubtedly due to the failure of the assessor to get a full enumeration, as the rapid growth made in the last year in Piqua will add one or two hundred, while the city of Neosho Falls has held its own at least and the country districts do not show any evidence of having gone backward. A young man, apparently about eighteen years of age, entered the house of John Sullivan, of Owl creek township, one day last week and took from thence a watch and chain and two dollars and a half in money. Should the efforts now put forth materialize, the AitGt'S will extend to the new journalistic venture a friendly greeting and wish it financial success. The St. Louis, Ft. Messrs. Mills and Sievert are progressing finely with their brick making. They will burn about 150,000 in the first kiln, and they have already moulded and placed ready for burning about The dried brick are of a dark blue, but it is said the fire will change them into a bright red color. We visited the yard, a half mile east of town, a day or two ago, and noticed that the dried brick-was remarkably free from cracks from the effects of the sun in drying. It is contended that a clay that will dry without cracking will burn well.

The clay is found on land owned" by Mr. Yates, who with hi3 accustomed liber-atity, grants the use of it without compensation. The estimated cost of burning the kiln is about GOO. It is an important industry, and we hope those engaged in it will meet with complete success. There is no paper published cast, west, north or south that can take the place of your own home paper.
