toer i i lower Our Patrons Fire Insurance Associa- We desire to call the attention of members of the Order to this branch of our business. This is an enterprise that must commend itself to every member of our Order whq desires insurance. The cost of insurance in our Association is small, and by our own co-operative ef- rt, it can be made one of the very strongest. The Association is now in good working order, having agents in nearly every county. Notwithstanding the unprecedented hard times, we shall this year get firmly rooted, and with the return of better times we can look for a rapid St.

Our rates are based upon the experience of the Michigan Farmers' Mutnal Insurance Association. In order to be safo, the Association fixes the rates at oner fifth higher than the average rate of all the companies in Michigan. The difference in the construction of buildings, and danger from prai'ie fires, adds something to lisksin Kansas as compared with Migbtgan. We give the following as an illustration of the difference between our rates andjoint stock companies We have examined the different wagons presented for our inspection, and find the Kansas as manufactured at the Penitentiary, to be a superior wagon in every respect. The timber is well seasoned, the iron is of the best quality, tbe workmanship cannot be excelled, the facilities sufficient to supply all the wagons wo will be likely to need, and the price is low, 70.

We find after a thorough examination of three different make of buggies, that the buggies made at the Penitentiary, we can cordially recommend to the convention as the cheapest and best buggies that we have any knowledge of. We have by the course we have taken, increased tho displeasure of ot! er manufacturers, who refuse to make terms with the Grange direct, and are now doing all they can to injure us, and carry confusion and disorder into the Grange and break up the organization. To this end they are devoting their best energies.

The State Grange of Ohio, in their circular calls upon the Orders of that State, not to purchase from the agents of companies who refuse to deal direct with them, "not accepting of a machine at any price; no, not as a gift." There should be some fixedness of detei ruination on the part of every individual Granger, to live up to, and sustain the principles of the Grange. The order must be united. Tho corner stone of the Grange organization should be unity, and laid in the mortar of sound business prininciples. Yours very truly, GIBBS STERRETT M'fff. Co.

JEFFERSON CITY, S. BARNUM Jlie plial Life prance ajiil tyotective ociatioji. This Association affords to the members of our order a cheap and safe method of Life Insurance. It is established upon the samo principle that the Odd Fellows' and Masons Mutual Benefit Associations are established. It is simply co-operation for mutual benefit and support.

It is simply five hundred or one thousand members binding themselves, each to pay $1.00 to the family of any one of their number upon his death. It is the simplest possible method of securing a sum of money for the benefit of theheirs of a deceased person, The onlf payments required, are first a membership foe $2 00, and thereafter $1 10 upon the death of a member in a class numbering one thousand. If there are only three hundred members, theheirs of the deceased person recovers but $3 00, if five hundred then $5 if one thousand, then $1,000. Where there are one thou-sand members, the dsaths are likely to be from eight to ten each year. If there are but five hundred members, then the deaths are likely to be but four or five per annum We hope to see the Patrons throughout the Stale become members of this Association and establish for the order a healthy system of Life Insurance.
