The covenant and business meeting was more largely attended Saturday than usual, and much was accomplished.

5.35 24. .....12.90 $35.35 The pastor was called the first of June. During- June and July there was paid on pastor's salary $30.52, making a total for the four months, June, July, August and September, $65.87. There have been only twenty-seven who paid anything" these past two months. Seven have paid by the week; thirteen have paid by the month; seven have made only one payment during" the two months.

Two who paid are not members of our church but attend quite regularly. There are 55 resident members. In the country near here, 12 members; non-resident, 18 members. Not quite one-half of the town members are paying. Only three country members have paid anything.

The estimate made when our pastor was called in June was for 10 cents per member each week on the basis of 70 members. But we have oqly 67 members and can count on only 55 of these at present paying anything. The 27 who paid their part two months average 16 cents each per week. A few have paid 25 cents per week. It will take an average of nearly 15 cents per week from each member to keep up expenses.

A few cannot pay this much, so Additional Emporia Locals. Since our, last issue letters of dismission have been granted to forty-five members of the. church. Emily Klinker to unite, at Meridian, Mississippi, Mrs. W.
