Sister Lucy Ellis is superintendent, and she is truly the right person in the right place. J. W. Megan, Pastor. Ram's Horn Wrinkles.

Iniquity builds its own jail. Atheism is the zero of hope. Truth is the weapon of honesty. The gossip's gun is always loaded. Tall trees fall harder than saplings.

We cannot trust in a God that's unjust. When money is king, misery is queen. God's cause is not benefitted by telling lies. Loss of first love is the first mark of apostacy. The poison is in the rattlesnake before it bites.

Christianity puts a rainbow of hope over the grave. A man without principle never becomes a martyr. Prayer meeting talk is not a sure criterion of pity. Camp meeting religion is too often scamp meeting religion. Prejudice is the chain of error holding its deluded devotee fast.

A covetous heart is like Pharoah's lean kine, it devours all. Charity does not consist in calling error truth and truth error. It is madness to put a viper in your bosom because of its gay coat. Christianity has put a coronet of glory on the brow of childhood. Woman's Friend Viavi.

I would be pleased to have a talk with any lady interested in this remedy. Mrs. J. W. Tanner, Agent, Emporia, Kansas 813 Mechanic Street.

Local and Personal. R. W. Windsor is now operator at Sterry. Miss Grace Cain is able to be out again after a severe sickness.

Mrs. Estella Carrithers is home for a visit from Las Vegas, New Mexico. Miss Addie Morse has finished her term of school near Olpe and is now at home. We are glad to welcome Brother Robbins back again to our church work and to our homes. Miss Idabel Cheever has recovered from the measles, and now Miss Lutella is entertaining them.

Dr. Read, Mrs. Simpson's father, is somewhat better than when he came three weeks ago. We hope that he will recover. It seems very natural to see Sister Cheever among us once more.

We only wish that she was going to remain permanently with us. The second Sunday in March the Pastor went to Reading and presented the cause of Foreign Missions. A large congregation listened to the sermon. Quite a number of the friends of Mrs. Jane Curtis surprised her on her ninety-fourth birthday.

Sister Curtis is quite well and active for one of her years. Bro. Win. Miller was called to Ohio on account of the sickness of his father who was not expected to live. We are glad to know, however, that his father is improving.

A committee of three Rev. J. W. T.i ti tier, Mr. H.

B. Morse and Mr. C. G. West, was appointed to secure plans and figures for enlarging the church.

They expect to report in a short time. April 7, the pastor attended the funeral services of a young man named John MacKenzie who fell from a wagon and received injuries such that he died in a few days. His father lives in New York City. Lorna, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs.

E. Evans, died April 1, after several weeks of suffering. Funeral services were held at the home. A host of friends sympathize with the parents in their sorrow. Three funeral have been conducted by the pastor since our last issue.

Mrs. Lucy Eleanor Blackmail, sister to Mrs. Arlouina Clark, died in Omaha, March 12. She was a member of the Brookfield Seventh Day Baptist Church. When living in Sedan.

Dear Brother Tanner: Stuck, entirely stuck Up-hill work and hard sledding Ten, eleven, twelve days' work and only one little movement. Not a confession, and preaching to the same congregations every night. That's the strange part of it. Brother Kidd is pretty nearly discouraged this morning. No, I am not discouraged, for my responsibility ends ere results are reached.

Unless there's a mighty stir, I shall close here Sunday night. That will give me one week's rest ere I begin at Vinton, Iowa, on the 10th inst. I need no rest only for my voice can't sing a word yet; am improving though. Brother Kidd is doing- 'permanent work on his field -Sedan, Cedarvale and Hew ins. At Cedarvale he is gathering fruit with each service, and results are visible; nineteen additions in the past three months.

Edith Hill-Booker is located as pastor in this Association. Elk City has a few weak, struggling Baptists, a house of worship out of debt and no pastor. Moline ought to come up or be brought up out of the toils. A few Baptists lure, too, who seem to have an idea that they are too weak even to struggle. Rev.

Malcom Wood succeeds Pastor Moore, deceased, at Harper, to which place he has removed after a pastorate.
