The Comrades of the Battlefield, (then called the Order of Three months Men), was suggested at St. Louis, by Comrade Geo. E. Dolton, in September, 1887, in a jest, and was so used until December, 1890, when he wrote an -article for the National Tribune, which appeared in the issue of January, 4, 18-1)1, and from the tone of the letters received from Comrades on the subject, it appeared that such an order was desired by the battle veterans.
